“Kiwifruit” is a word synonymous with New Zealand. The New Zealand industry is one of the world’s largest producers of kiwifruit and is the driving force behind developments in varietal and brand innovation. Under current New Zealand law, the majority of kiwifruit export sales are managed through Zespri but other select marketers, Freshmax included, are licensed to export kiwifruit to global markets.

Fruitlynx Marketing: Exporting to the World To best serve our national and international customer base, we operate a joint venture company, Fruitlynx Marketing. Aongatete Coolstores, one of New Zealand’s largest independent kiwifruit pack houses, is our supply partner in this joint venture (www.coolstore.co.nz). Fruitlynx Marketing holds collaborative marketing agreements to export kiwifruit to several countries in Asia, the Far East and Europe. Fruitlynx also ships kiwifruit into the Australian market for major retail programs. The majority of our collaborative programs are marketed under the ZESPRI brand. Freshmax also holds the marketing rights to Kiwiberry – they look like a berry but taste like a kiwifruit!

Our fresh markets around New Zealand also offer a full range of locally grown green, gold, or imported kiwifruit.

New Zealand Growing Regions

The majority of fruit is grown in the Bay of Plenty. Other areas of production are in the northern part of New Zealand and the top of the South Island.
